Sure any of us could. But would our totally politically Famouse opposite give us the same respect, without putting us down as they most usually do!

Most of them certainly do not, I hear them all the time and there complete utter nonsense. Where they feel, it is there way or the hwy. And they refuse to hear any one who does not agree with there ideals.

Respect is a two way St. Just saying.

"Say something genuinely nice (and nothing else) about famous people who are your political opposite"

Fine.

Harry Reid has a great face for Radio...

Being an anarchist well over 99% of the population is my "political opposite". So I can pick just about anyone to compliment. That's no fun.

Just pick someone who really, really annoys you. This is an exercise in reminding yourself that people are more complicated than black and white. Unless you think they are, so then this thread's not for you anyway.

Back on topic - William Buckley was deliciously sarcastic.

Unlike some of my friends, I will continue to see movies when the main actors views are very different than my own. I know some people that will flat out not see a movie based solely on the actors political beliefs.
That's weird. Movies are about characters, not the stars. Actors have just as much right to express their opinions and be activists for their cause as any other citizen. I like plenty of people that have different opinions from mine. I never understood people who lost friendships over politics.

I think Barack Obama, given his background, was brave to go and live on the South Side of Chicago in 1985 and try to become a community leader there. He could have just continued on a comfortable path after graduating from Columbia and built a career in New York in international relations consulting. And he was persistent, despite an early setback when he ran for Congress in 2000 and lost badly to former Black Panther Bobby Rush because he failed to connect with working class African Americans.

Donald Trump is the best salesman I've ever encountered in my lifetime. He could sell natural, organic, bovine excrement that's been purified, pasteurized and hermetically sealed in plastic containers. You won't care what it is until you open it but it will make your garden great again, and put your garden first on the block. Guaranteed.

No snark involved. He really is a master salesman. Kudos to his talent, but personally, I don't buy what he's peddling.
