The "open bathroom" concept is a really weird societal change. I was walking down the hall at work recently, noticed my boss walking ahead, and then he walked into the doorless bathroom. I kept on going and all of a sudden I could hear loud noises that made it clear that he had an upset stomach. I really don't need to hear that. I'm not sure why using the toilet has become something that needs to be publicly shared. Why not return to a wall of private single use bathrooms where anyone can use the bathroom alone with the door closed?
It's absolute nonsense that old men should be sharing a public washroom with little girls. There are reasons why bathrooms were separated by gender, but if special interest groups want to do away with that, then perhaps we need to do away with rooms that have more than one toilet/sink.
If someone wanted to go into the opposite sex bathroom for the purpose of sexually assaulting children, all they have to do is dress up like the opposite sex. What is to stop them now?
Also, what about all the pedophiles in the bathrooms with little boys....?

There are privacy laws against peeping and taping and of course indecent exposure. But if a man walked into the ladies room, went to a stall, closed the door, took care of business and left, he's broken no law in California. It works the same way for women. Women frequently use the men's room at large events because the lines are shorter. No laws broken.

This is true as well. People are already assaulted and raped in bathrooms. That's why so many parents such as myself are hesitant in letting little boys or girls go into public restrooms alone.
And FWIW, I'll reiterate - what about little boys in men's bathrooms. Its like you all don't realize a majority of serial child rapist/assault perpetuators are not cross dressing or transgendered. They are regular looking men who actually already do prey upon children in the men's room. They also can easily sneak into a ladies room when there is no one there and wait for a little girl to come in in order to rape/assault her, same as they do today.

What stopped sexual predators before? Also, why would anyone send their child into a bathroom alone? And furthermore, do you guys just think the men's bathroom is a bunch of men walking around exposing their penises to each other and sexually pleasuring themselves? Which then begs the question, if this is such a concern for the women's bathroom, why would you send you little boy into a men's bathroom full of sexual predators that don't need to put on a dress to sexually assault children?
Granted this is overlooking the obvious, if someone wishes to sexually assault a child or woman, there are better places for them to do that than public bathrooms, and the sexual predator is more than likely going to be someone the child or woman knows.
Here's the thing. Not all men who may go into the women's facilities under false pretense want to rape or assault them, but.....there are some peeping toms who simply want to see women in locker rooms and even want to hear their bathroom functions, even if they can't see anything. There are also exhibitionists who would get a thrill if a woman was present while they were standing at the urinal. Does that shock people?
There are simply men who are like that. They are usually harmless and I have no idea the percentage of population they are but they are out there. Should it bother women? I don't know. It depends on the woman.
But people should start getting used to it because it seems like that's the direction where we're heading.
