I didn't assume anything. In fact I doubted she was tutored at all.

Elite private schools are highly selective.

Most students do not not qualify.

I'm sure it was a close call.

Must be nice to be the kid of the establishment.

Sure we should.

Getting into Harvard *is* a big deal, and most, if not all, of those kids will have merited a mention in their local newspaper. We're hearing about Malia because we all know about her already, that's all.

But they will always accept the daughter of the President of the USA. Good for business.

Never heard of it.
I have no idea if Malia was tutored or not. I do know that many top students are tutored in school, independently or on Saturdays.

Japan mandates a 6 day week, 11 months a year and parents do without to pay for tutoring on top of this.

There are Japanese schools throughout the US with substantial Saturday enrollments with an emphasis on Math.

By your twisted reasoning, every minority that gets into college must have been because of affirmative action? No minorities are accomplished to get in without it? And who said racism wasn't alive and well in this country.

She should be thankful that she's not white or Asian. Having a dad as president doesn't hurt either.

The student body of Harvard is only 20% non-Jewish white
despite said demographic being 85% of the qualified set.
