Personally I need enough to satisfy the anti-gun Americans, but at the same time protecting America's legal gun culture forever.
But republicans are not concerned about protecting Americas gun rights forever, they are more concerned about getting gun owners to vote republican (in the name of corporate supply side economics politics.)
WTH did I just read here? Who cares what the illiterate, urban dwellers want. We didn't create their problems. Most of the inner core, urban moron's problems were created from themselves. Single Moms in big Cities create gang bangers that create a problem. The rest of us don't.
How about deal with the single Mom, urban center issue and leave law abiding Americans out of it.
But its not the number of people killed by assault weapons, its who is killed by assault weapons. When insane people walk into schools or movie theaters and kill large numbers of people (they typically use assault weapons.)
And what republicans don't understand is "Nearly every major reform to U.S. gun laws has come on the heels of a mass shooting. From Columbine to John F. Kennedy, America's most terrifying shootings have been the catalysts for the country's most sweeping reforms."
But after mass shootings the republicans in Washington just say "there will be no new gun control measures passed", and then individual states are forced to pass their own gun laws (to where certain states are headed to European-like gun regulations.)

And republicans refuse to pass laws that would bring millions of outsourced jobs back to America, and then give inner city people the opportunity to have a high paying job instead of a life of crime.
