Agustin Blazquez: America Is Turning Into Communist State | The Daily Caller

He brings up very valid points that I see as well. Kids today are much different than in my youth. Overly sensitive, entitled and they have no clue how the real world works. Success is not given its earned by getting your teeth knocked out then getting back in the ring. What I find most funny is the very people that are convincing these kids that socialism is wonderful are the very billionaires that profit from it.

What all this has to do with communism?
Communism is when there's no money and everyone takes what they want/need yet everyone is willing to work for common good. How's this remotely resembles America's individualistic cut throat life style?

He is indicating the change in generations from individual to collective, entitled thought. Not hard to discern.

He made some good points? He barely said anything!

He goes on about word politics. That's not a thing. Basically no agreement exists on what liberal or progressive means. Same with conservative. Liberal and progressive and conservative are all extremely hard to define, and socialism is not much easier. Communism isn't. It actually is extremely specific. He brings up Marxism too; WAY more specific than even communism. I'll tell you right now, no country on Earth has ever been Marxist. Anyone who has studies Marx, regardless of if they agree or even like him, know this to be true. If you disagree, you either haven't read anything Marx has said, or found something in Marx that apparently literally everyone else missed.

Bernie Sanders is a socialist, sure. But again, people who have studies this know the difference between communism and socialism. It's telling of someone's ability to think if they say they are the same. They're not. There are two different words for a reason. It seems obvious to say, but some people are really stupid.

America is not a communist country. Nor are we turning to socialism. We've been socialist for over a hundred years. We're just a weird kind of socialist that likes to pretend that we're not. It's a weird kind of free market socialism that usually doesn't actually benefit everyone equally. In fact, the rich benefit from it the most. Some will call this a hallmark of socialism, but people who are basically admitting they didn't read anything or even attempt to understand socialism and just watched Fox news becasue it's easy to understand even when you're hammered.

Socialists tend to believe in policy that is... social. Hence the name. Again, seems obvious, but education on ideas that we've labeled evil is basically non-existent, becasue that's how intelligent people structure education, I guess. Socialists want to work to benefit the workers. There are different kinds of socialism, and some are more ethical than others, but socialism as a whole is not meant to solely benefit those on top, as we saw happen in the USSR and Cuba. Though, do bare in mind that much of their hardship is also the result of foreign countries, like the US, turning them into trade pariahs.

But he did repeat some conservative talking points, so that's probably good enough for the average Trump voter... after all, he something you already agreed with so it must be true!

So basically this is just a "get off my lawn" "back in my day" kind of thread.....and none of this has anything to do with communism and everything to do with getting old.

Whether it's called "communism", "socialism", "progressivism", or anything else, the idea that there is some greater "common", or "collective" good is a sham promoted by some seeker of power who thinks that he/she and the cronies and sycophants (s)he's recruited has a better idea, if only they can get their hands on somebody else's hard-earned savings.

And I'm not saying that any advanced industrialized society doesn't want, or need, a basic "safety net". That is an essential in the fragile employment market which has developed in recent years, and has, in fact, been developing since the emergence of the "Overseers of the Poor" of more than a hundred years ago, But for every wannabee-bureaucrat who sees him/herself as a dispenser of largesse in an expanded welfare state, there are five or more who are perfectly happy to live a dull, but easy life on the dole.

And the numbers of the supposedly-entitled are growing, as more and more of the formerly-employed and displaced are losing faith and giving up. The fastest-growing component within the Social Security "Disability" racket now consists of mature white men.

When any rational individual sees his/her future as little more than a long drift downhill, consciously or not, (s)he runs his/her life short-term, and the incentive to abuse "the system" increases. As time passes, the bill gets bigger; and sooner or later, it will come due.

Those of us who have hedged our bets against the Great Ponzi Scheme, who live further away, in both distance and orientation from the sinkholes into which our mega-metros will devolve, and who now our neighbors well enough to determine who can be trusted, will have an easier time of things. But those who put too much trust in Big Brother/Sister are in for a rude awakening -- and will likely go looking for someone to blame, egged on by the ideologues who created the Frankenstein in the first place.

Don't come running to us, because we'll be ready for you.

I would rather we not send 18yr olds to die in wars to begin with. Seems like a careless thing to expect of our youth. Heck, I doubt most of the Couch Rambo Chicken Hawks could do that.
