When is violating our 4th amendment rights justified? I guess when the cops say it is. And if you try to protect your 4th amendment rights they will kill you. So this cop with a history of abuse knows he is now free to invade any home he chooses.

Nicholas Kehagias, a sheriff's deputy in Harnett County, North Carolina, came to John Livingston's house in the middle of the night, looking for two people who weren't there. Ten minutes later, Livingston was lying in a pool of blood on the floor of his porch, mortally wounded by three rounds from the deputy's gun.
Last month a grand jury declined to indict Kehagias for second-degree murder in connection with the November 15 shooting. But a recent investigation by the Raleigh News & Observer suggests the deputy's behavior that night fits a pattern of excessive force and needless escalation of encounters with local residents.

What an a**hole of a cop. He should be in jail for trespassing, burglary and 2nd degree murder.
This is true. It sounds like this cop is a really bad guy with lots of complaints. But I suppose if he is meeting his ticket and arrest quota, that's ok with the government.
Sounds like we need to fight this one out. NOBODY should be excused, especially a Police officer, for violating such a law. Especially one used to protect our property and livelihood.
The problem is when you have a culture of excusing anything police do as "justified". The general public mostly believe that if a cop does something, he/she must have had a good reason for it. That needs to change. Until it does, police on power trips will mostly escape unscathed. States need to pass laws that better vet potential officers for hire as a starting point; fail applicants who have markers of anger issues or aggressive attitudes. Lax hiring standards has taken the life of yet another civilian.

Makes me think of tv shows like COPS when they know they're on camera, be on national tv and as such, act like little choir boys.
And there's a huge difference when they don't know a camera is in the mix.... And of course they hate it. It makes it a little tougher to get away with lying on reports and under oath.

Yes, there are many who take up for cops regardless of the situation. Advocating that we do ANYTHING a cop demands. Cops do NOT have absolute authority, but aot of folks think they do. Then, they call people haters who disagree with their view. Saying no to a cops demands , ANY demand, and the cop can just shoot you, or ;beat you senseless. Its a serious problem, and getting worse.
