I like to think that it is not too late and that there is some life left in America, but I am afraid we Americans have seen our best years. Our population has become too dependent; we have become like Europeans.

The poor here are richer than the middle class in Europe. And we may continue the decline.

Unfortunately, it's over here -- best days are behind us and situation here will only continue to decline.

He said not planning for the day after was the mistake, not the NATO lead coalition itself. And the media mentioned it plenty. You watching TYT and them saying the media didnt cover it is not the same as them actually not covering it.

also, De Blasio's joke was a joke within itself. It didnt get buried, most people simply understood and didnt go overboard about it like you .

Direction of the country is not a reality because when that question is asked, it isnt uniform in the minds of the person being asked.

Unlike right-wingers, Americans don't every single one of their problems on the sitting president.

Obama job approval (RCP average): +2.9

That can be said of any poll, including the "approval" rating of a president. Many ways to word a question to make a poll fall one way or another. Basically, the vast majority of polls show obama at/or around 50% "approval" and he's been in that area for years. That's not anything to be excited about as about half/half/or just above half don't approve of the jobs he's doing.

http://www.gallup.com/poll/116479/ba...-approval.aspx

Plus the OP's thread title of "surges 10%" is incorrect. The op referenced the gallup poll and nothing went up 10% in the near term or in the last many years. Again, read the above gallup poll historical approval ratings. Nice try though OP.

The url I gave of the direction of the country has many polls with the same result, all asked in its own way. It's consistent that the vast majority of people in our nation aren't happy with the way the country is going and with our "leaders". It's obvious. And with the rise of trump and sanders with trump knocking out 16 mostly vetran politician and hillary still not securing the nomination from a 74yo socialist, beyond obvious.

oh, I think most blame the president on just about everything, right/left/wingless.

While it's really not logical to give them lots of credit/or hate for the "job" they are doing on things like jobs, the economy, etc. which I think in many ways is out of their control, they are "#1" so the "buck stops here" kind of thing rules the day in the end regardless.

Does Trump still have investigators in Hawaii? I still want to know what they found. He promised to let us know several years ago. So, Donald, we're waiting!

What were you trying to say?

Maybe you were trying to explain that the Right is not blaming everything on the President as Obama has been doing for the last 8 years. You are correct on that.

A poor reflection on the republican controlled congress, that is certain.

*Rasmussen is known as conservative pollster...
Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that just 11% of Likely U.S. Voters think Congress is doing a good or excellent job. That’s up slightly from nine percent (9%) in the previous two surveys which was the lowest positive rating since the start of the new Republican-led Congress in January of last year.
