Nonsense. Conservatives and NRA members are smart enough to know that 5,000 for ANYKel-Tek is an insane price. Progressives who know absolutely nothing about guns (yet regularly lecture everyone else about them) are far more likely to pay 5K because they know nothing about guns or gun pricing and they are motivated buy it to 'keep this terrible gun off our streets' and have it crushed in a public display of stupidity.
Agree that it is in poor taste so don't take my comment as support for this, more just an FYI. There are actually groups of "collectors/hobbyists" that collect, sell, and trade items specifically related to high profile murders and crimes such as Charles Manson or mass murder related things. I wouldn't be surprised if those are the types of people looking to buy this.
Zimmerman chased down and confronted a person that was doing nothing wrong and not breaking any laws. Even if Trayvon attacked him, it would have been justified self defense from what he likely believed was a risk of harm or death from the aggressive stranger that was stalking him.
Not according to the evidence and a jury that heard the evidence.
But facts are so... 1970's... who needs them, right?
That's the market system though. I know people bid on his artwork. TM's parents copywrote his name. Everyone is in the dollars game.
You can't copyright a name, you'd trademark it. That's a two way street because you would need it trademarked to prevent other people from profiting it. I wouldn't be surprised if it was a common practice in cases like this. That would give them the opportunity to sue people from using it on T-shirts or whatever. If someone wanted to make a movie, mention him a newspaper article or even post here about Trayvon it wouldn't prevent that.
There is fine line with trademarks. The common example is you can refer to your company with different name as an American airline but you can't imply you are the American Airlines. It's when that distinction is not clear you can sue.
I'm not getting into this pointless debate again. A person who would sell a weapon that was used to kill someone for any kind of profit is trash, along with everyone who's cool with that.
And having the nerve to call the gun 'a piece of American history'!

Zimmerman made sure that Trayvon wasn't around to tell his side of the story.
And we all know that juries get it right every time, that is why someday OJ Simpson and Casey Anthony will be vindicated when the real killers are found.

I see. When someone is killed by another person we should always convict the killer because the dead person is dead. What a wonderful system of justice that would be.
It makes me sad when I know some posters vote.
