PTSD recovery is tied to societal acceptance and proper treatment. The V A routinely fails veteran in this regard.. medicating treatment instead of more healthy alternatives. A medicated vet would be an automatic fail
There is a wealth of vets who WOULD be great applicants but national recruitment for police jobs is in the toilet because of the lack of support and lack of blue lives matter.

I just asked, because there are varying degrees/levels to PTSD - so it's good to know it's not an automatic DQer.
I'm quite aware of the VA's failures, and well the mental health sector period, in regarding PTSD/TBI. They rather hand out opiods like candy and deem a "sedated" vet on the road to PTSD recovery.
It's sad to hear about the national recruitment efforts for LE - as the military is a huge talent pool imo.
