Of course! But we all know there are cases where the evidence is incontrovertible, in those cases I have no problem with the death penalty being applied. I know it's argued by some that the death penalty is not a deterrent, I'd counter by stating murder laws don't deter many from committing murder, does that mean we should do away with those laws? And to those who argue the death penalty is playing God I'd say man has the right to judge his fellow mortal man, judging the soul is up to God.
Big pharma is getting all moral over this issue. 28 people were legally executed in the United States in 2015. Yet according to The Daily Mail - "last year 5,516 Dutch people — including children — were legally killed by lethal injection administered by doctors trained to do the task with rapid efficiency." Dutch euthanasia extends to woman being killed by doctors for cleaning obsession | Daily Mail Online
Children too, how about them apples.
So what do you think folks, should big pharma cut off the Dutch?

Only because the carrying out of the sentence is such a drawn out and sanitized process. Allow for one appeal, to be prepared, presented and adjudicated within one year to the day of the original sentence. If not successful, the sentence shall be enforced within a week, openly, with mandatory viewing by those currently incarcerated for lesser crimes, particularly those in the juvenile justice system. You want deterrence, that would do it. And none of this "quick and painless" nonsense - make the punishment fit the crime committed by the condemned. Then use the carcass as fertilizer.
And Big Pharma would be taken out of the process altogether so the bleeding hearts can sleep well at night.
how many innocent people are you willing to kill in order to support your belief?
How many are you willing to? Convicted murders, in prisons, can and do kill again, both other prisoners and guards. One person murdered by some scumbag kept alive for decades due to stupidity on the part of a government unwilling to execute them is one too many.
Just go to the local vet clinic and get what they use to put dogs down. If they are good enough for an innocent animal, they are more than good enough for some murderer that is less than an animal.

But that's different. Killing innocent people and babies is all progressive and OK. It's only killing murderers guilty of the most heinous crimes that concerns them.
