Meh, to an extent you're right. Trump is a bit of an arrogant buffoon, much like Obama. However, at least I think he sees himself as an American.

Historians take care to present as honest an account of a historical subject as possible, using as many sources from the period as possible, accepting and reporting all sides of any issue.

If the subject disagrees with their personal beliefs, so be it. Historical truth comes from a compilation of many period sources, not just one, and it is left up to the reader as to whether it proves to be disagreeable or not, shocking or not, or expected. Or not.

That is a rigorous process for both the writer and the reader. And that's why historians have intellectual weight as to what they have written.

Anyone can spend a few hours making up anything that comes to mind, and can call it 'history', but it's not the real deal. Lies are lies, and will always be found out. And that is why lies are weightless. They have no honesty in them.

Don't hold up a handful of feathers and try to claim it's gold.

I don't get it? You saying I lied?

If so, I failed to see where you corrected the lies?

It's trump who has claimed that America is not exceptional. After all, if we need to make America great again....well it must not be great now, yes?
So the "hope and change" was FROM exceptional? That seems rather stupid..

We are only as exceptional, as our government will let us be.

The more government gets involved... the less exceptional we become.
We were exceptional, because we did not have government controlling every aspect of the lives of people.
That is not true today. We have become like everyone else. Government control of everything. Socialism, like everyone else, since government took over the power from the people.
Whatever.

President Obama delivered a forceful defense of American exceptionalism at the United Nations on Tuesday, saying, "I believe America is exceptional."

Speaking before the U.N. General Assembly, Obama made the case for why the United States has been pushing other nations to intervene more directly in the Syrian crisis.

"I believe America must remain engaged for our own security, but I also believe a world is better for it," he said in the speech. "Some may disagree, but I believe America is exceptional, in part because we have shown a willingness, to the sacrifice of blood and treasure to stand up, not only for our own interests, but for the interests of all."
Eat it, conservatives.

Really? Do you think there are as many buggy whip makers employed today as there were in the 1870s ?

Do you think a mature company with declining revenues and an operating loss will add to the headcount? Of course not. The company may do other things first, but if revenues continue to decline they will look at reducing the workforce as a cost cutting measure.

Everyone can't work for the government.

The Loafer-in-Chief would like America to be exceptionally socialist.

The Truth of Glorious Socialism in one sentence: "a life of forced labor and famine under the leadership of loafers. "

You have that backwards. The people screaming and stomping their feet saying America is not and never has been exceptional are losers who have nothing to show for their lives.

Nope.

Showing something for one's life -- like what? owning a trailer and being a plumber (not that there's anything wrong with either of those things -- is not being exceptional.

I'm flattered you place so much weight in my hands.

Is this like calling a dog a canine and the idiot says you didn't say dog.
You folks are the ones scream about personal responsibility and accountability yet you folks do neither.

It's up to YOU to show us where you got this "exceptional era" from American history. Will you be a man and admit to your lies or simply keep at it?
