If Powell hadn't fallen on his sword and backed the Iraq disaster he might well have been the first African-American president instead of Obama.

If anyone can't see this they are willfully blind. If he truly felt this way he would have said something MUCH sooner.
I have to admit that this took longer than I thought, but I knew it was coming.

I'm as liberal as they come-- and I completely agree with the President.

I was proud when Bernie Sanders spoke at Liberty U-- and that the students showed him respect. It's important to hear and consider opposing views. That's rare today as everyone has become so polarized and looks at those with differing political views as "the enemy."

Palin hardly has the gravitas that Secretary Rice possesses.

However, I think the Governor is should be welcome to speak her word salad wherever she is invited.

Not the question.

Would Obama have afforded the same sentiments to Sara Palin?

.....or if you prefer, someone with more political chops such as former Deputy Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs Liz Cheney?

It's not exactly a warm and friendly for free speech precisely. It's a call to attack Condi and those that think like her with better reasoned arguments. Still a call to attack, though it is a tip of the cap to "yeah I suppose those guys have free speech to."
liberal minions is a good one - I think getting Liberals to agree on ideological issues is like the proverbial herding cats. & minions itself is doubtful - Liberals may agree to a plan of action, but in my experience, they'll all likely have different reasons to do so.

The Nazi SS either assaulted their victims or killed them outright, vandalized or destroyed business, churches, synagogues, & so on. Once the Nazis took over German government, the SS became a state agency. political correctness is from Left humor, a comment on the ponderous jargon-laden justifications for action from the Communist & Socialist parties. Putting them together doesn't make any sense, as PC isn't something that the Nazis would have even recognized.

I don't think of the Nazis as Leftists - they were some kind of Nationalist cult of personality, worshipping Hitler's confusing political/racial thought. One of the main reasons they lost WWII.

Beyond all that, she was/is a brilliant, driven person. She did area studies on the USSR, learned Russian (fluently, as I recall). She was faculty & provost @ Stanford, sat on Chevron & other corporate boards (there was an oil tanker named for her, I believe). She's a concert-level pianist.

She rose & rose, & probably has a lot she could say. It would be interesting to hear her speak - but I'm sure we'd disagree on a lot of the issues.
