News coverage of the details of this case has been terrible. No different than most newscasts where ignorant people talk about things they know nothing about. As near as I've been able to find out, Stag (which legally manufacturers automatic weapons for the police and military) had a batch of lower receivers that had been machined but not serial numbered, sitting ahead of the stamping machine that marks the serial numbers. These were the "unregistered machine guns".

I have some old muffler tubing and some fender washers in my shop. According to F-troop gurus I'm illegally manufacturing "silencers".

It doesn't look as cool, but a 2qt diesel oil filter, is quieter than anything made.

Also from the article:
Grow up. No one and nothing is perfect, the US government has a far greater loss rate than that but I don't see you or any other anti gun nut liberal supporting action against Obama. Police across the country lose hundreds of guns a year, better get on your high horse and start a campaign about how that is unacceptable too.

Funny how liberals always expect perfection and start foaming at the mouth when it isn't attained by people they disagree with but will let those they agree with literally get away with murder.

I deal in machine guns. I have a title III license and I have to submit to periodic inspection of my paperwork by ATF.

Guess what, more often than not, they use my records to correct their records. So ATF looses track of what they are supposedly getting funded by your tax money. Nobody fines them or puts them in jail for loosing track of full auto weapons.

Also from the article:

The head of the IRS is facing impeachment because he lost tens of thousands of emails.

The GAO can't account for billions of cash spent in Iraq.

Hundreds of millions of dollars worth of government property goes missing each year and nobody bats an eye.

Wonder what's going to happen to those involved in Fast and Furious? or to Hillary since she okayed the gun running in Benghazi?
