The only way they can convince themselves to vote for an Obama or a Hilary is by first creating the stereotype that all republicans are the most vile, the most corrupt, the most evil, racist, misogynistic, wife beating homophobes the world has ever seen. This way, even if they realize how corrupt, dishonest and inept their politicians really are, people like Hilary don't seem so bad, because they have convinced themselves that all republicans are even worse.
