To be fair: legal aliens ain't the problem IMHO, it's illegal aliens and their anchor kids who are more likely to demand this and that cause of their criminal minds.
Would you care to cite any evidence of this, or is this yet another example of ideology and dogma trumping facts?
The shop said they will NOT turn away people who don't speak English. Many states and some counties in WI have English as an official language. Are they exclusionary and hostile too? What about our English language requirement to obtain citizenship? Is it exclsionary and hostile for employees to carry in in Spanish in front of non-Spanish-speaking customers, or do only English speakers deserve disdain?

Oh stop with the phobia about folks speaking a language you can't understand already.
Just because they're speaking Spanish doesn't mean they disdain or disrepect you. Do you have to be a party to every conversation around you? Now if they say you have to speak Spanish by fiat in the store or public place, that's different.
Now it's a bit dicey when you talk about official languages. Does that mean they have to exclude other languages or use that law to marginalize language minorities?
The USA has had a laissez faire approach with official languages generally, and it's worked well so far. Don't fix it if it ain't broke.
I think it is a stupid policy that is bad business, but I really don't like government intervention into the policies of private businesses. Let the market speak on their decisions instead of incompetent and egotistical blowhard politicians.

Yup. Especially when you take into account Native languages, and territories like Puerto Rico and Guam, where the US engulfed the populations (as opposed the populations choosing to immigrate to the US).

And what is your phobia about a shop owner making his own rules? He has not violated anyone's rights.
My thoughts exactly, regarding the owner's English-only policy.

ALL illegal aliens are lawbreakers and, YOU should know that. Too; I'm gonna say MOST of their kind commit fraud like as in ID theft and not reporting income to avoid dying in the US.

Funny you give a pass to 1 group of Europeans from Spain who came here and did bad things but, you've got the nerve to bust on English based culture for doing the SAME things? Too; that's how things were done back in the day so; trying to use "2016" morals against a bunch of long dead people doesn't fly.

Find my post here where I discussed my experience in a chain restaurant with an open kitchen. The kitchen staff was speaking Spanish and using a four letter denigrating word to describe the cashier, all the while laughing at her. Meanwhile, this was all in earshot of the GM who didn't even speak Spanish. You bet I wrote to corporate HQ about this. No one should be speaking Spanish (or an other language) while working in an open kitchen here in the US. Period.
BTW, you may also be unaware that many illegals from Mexico, Central and South America can't even read and write in Spanish, let alone in English. And you think we should enable them to remain ignorant by always giving them everything in Spanish? A lot of it is a total waste as so many are functionally illiterate.
