Yup. Over 10 years ago, the bleeding hearts pushed the local county government to take taxpayer money and open a day labor site for the illegals. It was run by a group that aids and abets illegals. The voters were not happy and voted out the bums who ignored the majority and funded the site anyway. The day labor site had a 2 year lease. After the lease was up, the site closed down---much to the delight of the majority of local American citizens and legal immigrants.

Bleeding hearts love illegals as long as they aren't living in their neighborhoods and attending their schools. They are a bunch of hypocrites.

It's called some of us Repubs AND Dems DON'T want illegal aliens in the US. Period. We have enough "American" trash here already and too, I really think illegals have hurt Black people the most.

If I had the power: I'd arrest ANY known illegal on sight and lock them up till deportation.

No That is not the problem. If you are really annoyed by the illegal invasion get yourself out to California and urinate on Reagan's grave. He and those who followed him created a problem.

The solution though is not to do what Reagan failed to do. Way to late for that. An utterly different population with a vastly different legal context.

So the question is how to fix Reagan's screw up.

And that is where we need to get rationale. Those pushing for deportation of all the illegals are simply irrational. It would be hugely expensive, take forever and might not succeed.

And failing to do anything continues to make it worse.

Uh; what about the Holocaust? Tho it probably did NOT affect most Americans; if our kind didn't care about what happened to innocent Jews, I'd really wonder about us.

And the fact that is hopelessly irrational does not bother you?

Neither party is going to want to be associated with the largest roundup of people this country has ever seen. We've put up with it for so long (for better or worse) and such action would appear draconian. Especially if the only crime they committed was crossing the border illegally.

[and what's Trump's plan for the employers?]
Uh; lots more crimes for an illegal to survive in the US, many of them are felonies which WOULD get an American locked up.

True, but working with them brings you into close contact with their individual personalities.

The ones I became friends with were what I would consider outside the norm. Being that they had a strong desire to assimilate and become Americans, as opposed to many of them who were "just here for the beer".

Call me a big softie.

One wonders if the Democrats who will benefit from the deportation of illegals will actually reward the Trump Republicans with votes in the future.

What makes you think that Republicans should want Democrats wages to suffer?

A true Conservative wants all Americans to do as well as they can financially.

True. But there is also nothing free market about controlling the flow of labor. Which is what many people want to do. If we had a free labor market, there would be no need at all to intentionally import labor, cheap or otherwise. According to free market theory, employers who find themselves short of labor would up wages and/or other benefits, and the needed laborers would appear.

I'm no fan of the ideology of free markets. So I don't use the theory of free markets as a way to judge proposed policies.

Propose controlling the flow of laborers, if you wish. It is, after all, what most, if not all countries do, and always have. Just don't fool yourself that you can do it and still contend that it is compatible with libertarian free markets.
