Well here we go again, but in Kobach's defense they did find 3 instances of non-citizens voting in elections over 18 years.

Quote:
One of the most fervid ideologues expected at the Republican convention next week — the Kansas secretary of state, Kris Kobach — has been busy shaping extremist positions in the party platform to suppress immigration, gun controls and same-sex marriage. But he also found time last week to do actual damage to Kansans with a devious, 11th-hour policy that would disqualify 17,000 of them as state voters, even though they are allowed by law to vote in federal elections.

All States purge voters that are Felonies, Dead and or has moved away. AZ did that a few years ago.

Their vote would count for the federal elections, but would not count for the local and state elections.

This is not a purging but a new restriction to vote in the state that will essentially eliminate people who previously voted.

I find that interesting and don't know of any state that makes that distinction, most state laws are consistent with federal laws.

According to them, they allowed the federal vote to be compliant with the feds - but claim their own separate state rules.

They lost in federal courts so he threw this in at the last second to change voting in state and local races, It will be challenged in court but not until after the election.

It's from the NY Times editorial board; therefore, odds are good they are making things up or just flat out lying. It might as well come from The Onion.

Are the feds still denying them full access to the SAVE database so they can crosscheck these names?
