I'll freely acknowledge that I most certainly don't believe that there's a such thing as a post racial America and that blacks (the only group I can speak for) should ALWAYS be guarded about who they trust and the motives of non blacks. This IS a necessity..
If has racist tendencies, it is a necessity.

My regional manager is a big ol Republican and he talks all that merit crap.
And yet...he promoted me over a better qualified guy because I worked for him in the Army and he's more comfortable with me in the position.
To boot...HIS boss is someone who hired HIM for the same reason...familiarity. They worked together for three years back in D.C. and they're golfing buddies.
