It is estimated that more than 150,000 American military personnel are stationed in over 150 countries across the globe.
We can no longer afford to be the world's policeman. Donald Trump is correct other nations should start paying for their own defense. I believe its time to start bringing our men and women home!

Read Chalmers Johnson's book on the US defense establishment, The Sorrows of Empire for insight on why the US military continues to keep overseas bases.

What a mindless comment. How will a poor, small country pay for its own defense? Or should it be ignored because it cannot afford to pay?

The world cannot afford to be without a policeman.
No one else is going to do it. No one.

Despots everywhere need to be aware that action will come swiftly and without apology. Innocent victims of military weapons need to know that they have someone they can count on, and the owners of those military weapons need to know that they are in deep ka-ka.

We should always be stationed in friendly countries and we should always be ready to strike.

Neighborhoods that have no police go down hill very fast. Someone would have to step up to the job, in the 19th Century my ancestors the British kept peace on the high seas and made the world safe for businesses. When Britain could no longer handle the load of our growing planet then we chose to do it far preferring we call the shots. Now if we toss this burden who should pick it up. Would you feel safer if Xi Jinping or his sucessors was deciding who did what and where Americans trade or work or travel? Maybe he might decide only China should have a nuclear arsenal. Think about it.

Default The U.S. Has One Of The Largest Overseas Military Presence In The World.---"WHY"

"One of"? The rest of the world combined doesn't have the overseas military presence America has.

The do-gooders responding ignored the part in the OP where we can no longer afford it.

Is it a problem if China restricted Americans only in Asia but nowhere else?
