So one out of every 20 detainees is transgendered???
That's 5%...17X higher than the 0.3% in the general population that we hear about in the media.
Unless my math is really fuzzy (could be cuz it's late) something is off here.
I wouldn't be surprised. In some places in Latin America, transpeople face even more risks of physical violence than in the US. And if they come to the US, they may have legitimate right to asylum.

I don't believe that's how the asylum process works...but I could be wrong (or not).
...nice use of tax dollars for two of Obama's pet causes.
It wouldn't surprise me if there was an unusual amount of transgender people flooding across our borders. They probably know the odds are good if they are pre-op, it's only a matter of time before US tax payers are on the hook to pay for their surgeries and hormone prescriptions.
I'm assuming those asylum seekers are from oppressive governments with very anti LGBT views...such as some of the middle eastern countries. Not Mexico....who happen to legalize gay marriage recently.
I think the most important issue is that, when can we let Taxpayers Decide Where Their Money Goes?
I am sure even the Democrats would be secretly voting no on this whole "transgender migrants housing" thing.
