They NEVER seem to "learn form history"

A perfect example is when they passed the "luxury tax" expecting to bring in millions more dollars into the U.S Treasury.

INSTEAD, the U.S boating industry and the small airplane industry were almost completely destroyed.

Tens of thousands of jobs were lost and the fed took in LESS money from those industries.

They NEVER had the common sense to understand that the people they THOUGHT they could get MORE money from, would just STOP buying boats and airplanes.

You mean the "luxury tax" that George H W Bush signed into law?

That "luxury tax"?

Weird how fast-food franchises in countries with considerably higher minimum wages do quite well without robots. I am beginning to wonder if perhaps US business owners just aren't that good at it...

People who get a paycheck from other companies, duh. Surely you're not implying that megacorporations should consider themselves as entities with some sort of responsibility for the side effects of their decisions?

I hold people and businesses responsible for ALL of the effects of their actions not just the intended. I take responsibility for what I do, good or bad, intended or not, so why should not they.

I do not care a bit if Pizza Hut or all the rest of the mass fast food industry uses robots. I simply do not buy the slice of salty grease on a slab of cardboard they call Pizza. The closest I come is a cup of Dunkin Donuts insipid coffee as a payment for the use of their rest rooms.

Actually, I was keeping on the topic, which was Pizza Hut. Maybe you should stay on topic, too. And my stepson was a manager at one for a while.

That's cool. Just one more restaurant to check off of my list as a possible dining destination.

And frankly, Pizza Hut is pretty easy to give up. I could live next door to it and not miss it.

I'll skip the robots for as long as possible. We cant afford to lose more jobs. If I have to pay an extra .30 cents for a burger, so be it. That is less expensive than welfare.

Like many things, I understand that I will likely be in the minority and not make a difference in the end. Wal-Mart hasn't closed their self check out registers yet.

They closed them here. They kept malfunctioning.

I've noticed it here also. Always one with a "broke" sign on it.

I'll bet whoever come to repair it gets paid more than a cashier so there is that.

The day is coming where people will not fill those jobs.

$15.00 per hour to flip burgers and take orders - those jobs were never intended to be careers!

An engineer is working on a robot to do that job, right now, at this moment.
