I was filling out a form for an upcoming political/religious convention that I am attending in Washington, DC. The only choices on the form for my gender were "male" or "female." I strongly believe there should be a menu of options for other possibilities. Rachel Dolezal, for example, was white and considered herself black.

Shouldn't we be free to evolve our identities?*

*With apologies to Barack Obama's bathroom plan for public schools if this is not considered original.

Some days I feel more like a beagle than a man.

If you're around in 10, 15 years, you'll have 6, 7 choices for 'gender.' The choices could reach a few dozen on some college applications.

I'm quite sorry, but you are either male or female in this species, get used to it. It's the current year ya know...

What if you are white, but believe that you are black but you also are a self-hating black?

best course of action for much ado about nothing

all these new rules for a population scarcer than hen's teeth and nothing for the problems at the VA for thousands of men and women who sacrificed for their country.

In other words the effort is disproportionate to the priority of the problem.

It may be you who stands as charged and not another conservative
