Finally, enough with the guns already! For me anyway, the issue of gun control as compared to the overall social and economic considerations when it comes to foreign and domestic affairs is much like focusing on the flies at a rodeo.

Yes, you do have a problem, because we don't have police running around SS Nazi style asking people for papers, let alone rounding them up, arresting them and shipping them off to who knows where. You've got a really big problem in fact (in more ways than one).

Thanks for all the rest of the incredibly insightful truths, perhaps more simply and aptly put, "people are usually decent people," although all too often not so decent in many ways too...

I've got plenty of friends and family in SoCal and visit there myself often. The water is fine, and I have never ever heard of any trouble drinking the stuff there, but I'll let you know if I start getting reports to the contrary.

Early bird gets the worm (and I've got plenty stuff to do today)...

Learnme, you like dialogue but all you do is argue. How does 'one side' or the other have any high ground. They are both defunct.

Wasn't speaking to cause as much as who was POTUS when, and I'm not getting into the cause of the Great Recession with what time I have this morning and/or the rest of my life. Easier and more entertaining, I might suggest, to simply read the book "The Big Short," and/or see the movie.

Hopefully yard work? That's where I find the most serenity (vs golf, gym, motorcycle, snowboarding, etc...)

I do enjoy dialogue, and no doubt engaging with people who don't agree with me is a little more interesting than simply soliciting agreement, though I prefer the more intelligent and informed arguments either way. I am simply not inclined toward your perspective, because for me there is always better or worse, right or wrong, smarter vs dumber, all to which I'd like to think we strive for higher ground, though clearly not all are so inclined.

I did. I know it. My ex wife was a mortgage officer during the time.

Great movie btw. CArrell was awesome.

Yes, something of a "green thumb" here, but you list "golf, gym" etc. as alternatives and what? No guns?

Seems for more than a few reasons you don't belong in this forum...
