Trump is called a racist, and to a point rightfully so with some of the comments he makes.

But what has the US become in its history, and what does it mean today? Is Trump bringing to light what many Americans believe deep down inside? What does it mean to be an American now? Because the borders have been open for so long, America isn't "pure", so for a US born citizen to think they have lost their natural country to the world, does it have any merit?

Trumps problem is he sounds elitist in forgetting about this history of the country, but instead shutting down all ties to outsiders and make the US a natural born only country which is impossible anyways.

But, I won't lie. It does bother me that I can walk into a store in my country (and I'm talking frequently) and it's impossible to communicate because the workers don't speak my native language. Sometimes I think it should be required to learn the language here before living here, but of course I know that doesn't work. Is that what irks Trump so much? Is the hate he is fueling getting to those people who truly believe this country should be an insider country only?

I say this for the sake of argument. I live in this country and love it, and live with what this country brings to my table.

What if someone or Trump walked into that same store but 100 yrs ago? Do you think they could have understood the language of the day? I think most people just forgot this nations forefathers and how we got here- was not just the BRITS or the Irish--but only ones complaining are the north Europeans descendants- I never hear a peep from anyone else? The sons of the King/ Queen- always have been the pushiest people all over the globe? India Africa, the US- and so forth --

I swear the Left must have selective hearing.

Whenever someone says they don't like uncontrolled illegal immigration, the Left hears: "I hate all Immigrants".

Y'all need a collective hearing test.

There has never been a such thing as a melting pot in the United States. That's never been nothing more than a utopian idea...and an impossibility in a nation with our historical racial and ethnic DNA.

And ya'll need to learn why we have illegal immigrants, because people give them jobs. So instead of throwing good $$$ after bad with a wall and mass deportations which would require a ridiculous amount of manpower, go after those who gave them those jobs.

Why not all of the above?

It need not be that expensive, nor would it need to be done all at once.

And you need glasses, or to have your glasses checked, because I'm on the left and that's not the way I think at all, nor do any of my friends, most of whom are also on the left of center.

Well, the man who wants those mass deportations claims he'd do it quickly. And just how would rounding up 11,000,000 people who don't want to be found be anything but expensive?

Please show me where the OP said anything AT ALL about the legal status of the people who are speaking languages s/he doesn't know.

The impression I got is that the OP is feeling outnumbered, regardless of legal status.
