A young valedictorian from Texas has stirred controversy after she tweeted that she will be attending the University of Texas-Austin with a full scholarship and that she is undocumented.

Mayte Lara Ibarra, a graduate of Crockett High School in Austin, Texas, tweeted photos of herself after graduation and mentioned her 4.5 GPA, her 13 cords and medals and her immigration status.

I hope her scholarship is revoked because she is ineligible to attend college in this country.

Why should an illegal get a full scholarship when there are thousands of American citizens struggling to pay for their own college?

This makes no sense? So put illegals before your own citizens? This country is definitely broken .

This is what my daughter has had to deal with her entire HS experience. The entitlement mentality of the illegal aliens and anchor babies... My daughter was named the white girl.
They gave it to her because of her known illegal status. Misty should have been the Valedictorian, with higher GPA and test scores..

This speech, was the worst self serving spew I have ever sat and listened to at a HS graduation...
The speech started off.....""I always knew I would be standing here today""

1.) Valedictorians get an automatic 1-year scholarship at UT-Austin.
2.) UT-Austin is bound by state law regarding charging in-state tuition to illegal immigrants, regardless of whether they agree with it or not.

I get tired of people pissing on my alma mater just because it's in Austin.

P.S. Deport that nitwit.

She should also be deported and given a scholarship by the Mexican government to a university in Mexico City. That would be fair and puts her back where she legally belongs.
