^^^^Exactly! The vast majority of Hispanics are at least part white.
I remember back when the illegals threw their first May Day tantrums about 10 or so years ago. There was a photo of a light skinned woman who was holding a sign that said "This is our continent. Go back to Europe". How I wish I could have asked her when she was going to pack her bags.
Mario Obledo died? I didn't know that. Sorry to say, but his passing is no great loss.
I believe, many years ago, growing up in Los Angeles we learned in school that mostly Mexicans were a mixture of Native Americans and Spanish. Of course I was very young and probably didn't get the entire picture.
And now Americans complain that Mexicans are taking over parts of the US from them, wah, wah, wah.
Except that whites didn't come here illegally and they didn't steal any land from Mexico as the Mexican whiners claim. This is an illegal invasion by mostly Mexicans and they are taking over via illegal immigration along with their anchor babies so it's not the same thing. That is neither lawful nor natural.
Since the 1500s to the 1800s, they were conquered and ruled by Spain. It was Spain's king who had them learn Spanish, that they still speak to this day. Oh and their religion...that was from Spain, too. All those heavily Catholic Mexicans...nope, that came from the evil Europe. If they were truthful and honest, they would call themselves Aztecans, not Mexicans, if they really wanted to go back to their roots.
So all of the advances that Spain brought to them, (that European country), they need to get rid of all of it, including the language, go back to being Aztecans, live the life of an Aztecan, and then we can talk about who they think they actually are and what they think they're entitled to.
Here's the deal. The tribes you mentioned who are the ancestors of the Mexicans along with the Mayans, etc. did not settle within our borders. So their descendants have no legal rights to the USA. The descendants of the tribes that did settle within our borders are all full fledged U.S. citizens and rightly so! Yet many Mexicans claim that because of their tribal roots they own this entire continent and therefore have rights to be in the USA with or without permission of the U.S. government.
Not really. He was commenting on Hispanics becoming a larger percentage of California's population.
"You can leave" is an appropriate response to anyone complaining about too many Hispanics, blacks, Jews, gays, or Asians in their neighborhood.
How convenient that he failed to mention how the Hispanic population is increasing via illegal immigration and anchor babies mostly. So what's to like? I don't see the other groups you mentioned increasing their numbers via the same way.
Mexico:
60% Mestizo (Spanish-Amerindian mix) 30% Amerindian
9% White
1% Other
It's wayyyy less than 30%. There are very few people in Mexico that are genetically 100% Amerindian. The vast majority of the population is visibly somewhere in the Euro-Indio mestizo spectrum. The countries make up is more like 90% Mestizo, 10% White/Spanish. The Southern provinces have more indigenous-leaning Mestizos (Indo-Mestizos), the Northern provinces closer to the border have taller, whiter looking people (Castizo/Harnizo).
Many nationalistic people in Mexico and other Latin American countries will play up their indigenous roots and downplay their European genetics, while many others play up the Euro/Spanish roots and identify as "white" as a right of passage to middle/upper class status.
The whole southwest (Texas to California) was taken from Mexico by force and invasion.
A war was fought but the U.S. still paid Mexico $15 million for some southwestern territories. Anyway, that's all in the past and those people are all dead now. Mexicans were also given the choice to remain within those territories and be U.S. citizens or remain south of them and remain Mexican citizens. If those alive don't like the choice that their ancestors made then let them go spit on their graves if it makes them feel any better. I don't see the Mexican government trying to take back those territories. No, it's just a bunch of whiney peasants who can't seem to make it in their own country that have adopted this Reconquista attitude.
