ISIS' whole schtick is "non Muslims will never really accept you, they hate you deep down, look at how they are killing us all over the world? Look at how they treat you and your family? we need to fight back by killing them in retaliation and claim some land of our own"

Trump helps push the narrative that Americans will never truly accept and respect Muslims.
So if we play nice and try to completely integrate - radicalized Muslims wont be a problem? Has that worked in Europe?

Unbalanced people who have easy access to weapons definitely should be the topic of discussion. But I get it, you only want to focus on the "Mooslems," right?

The point was that we, as a nation, can take steps to limit our exposure to immigrants from Muslim countries. That is the rationale behind Trump's proposal, like it or not. Of course, this will not prevent homegrown terrorists from doing what they do, but it's still a logical step.
We already screen immigrants for radicalization. Plus most of what Trump was speaking about concerned refugees. We are not Germany that has millions crossing the borders with no vetting. Refugee Immigrants here are screened for years before they are allowed entry.

We don't have an epidemic of recent immigrants committing terrorist acts. The only one might have been those two yahoos in Boston, and they were not recent refugees.

The vast majority of our terrorists/mass shooters are home grown.

This poster sounds like a naive liberal European writing this in... 1999!
Exactly - we already have the blueprint for how acceptance plays out. Is that where we want to go?

Read "While Europe Slept" by Bruce Bauer, a gay American living abroad in Norway. It is not a new book, but I cannot believe people are unaware of it.

This is what no one in this thread wants to talk about. These are Americans carrying out these mass shootings, whether they are Christian white supremacists or Muslim extremists. Focusing on the group and not the problem of easy access to weapons is diverting attention from the real problem. Which we are not allowed to talk about.

The topic is Islam in case you fail to see it. Don't patronize on your spelling of Moslems in that way as though to imply that I am some idiot. I am very familiar with that unreformed religion in its major forms.

But we don't want to treat all these groups the same.
I disagree.

White supremacist groups, such as they are, pretty much have ZERO tolerance in our society..ZERO! The federal government will not even hesitate for i second to hunt down, and prosecute to the fullest extent of the law to destroy such groups. However, Black supremacist groups like BLM, Black Panthers ect. Are not only tolerated, but celebrated. And if any WHITE person should even think of questioning them, they are automatically labeled as a racist and hate monger. Brown supremacist groups like LARAZA, and Re-Quonquista are treated as a protected minority group. WTF is wrong with this country? Why do we tolerate some hate groups, but not others?
