There is no way to keep firearms from people. Not even those the government has deemed criminals.

An AR15 with a bump fire mod that increases the trigger pull rate definitely falls into that category, as you can easily get several hundred rounds per minute.
a real assault rifle can do 900 rounds a minute easily. a bump fire does not come anywhere near close to that number.

"How many rounds per minute can the weapon produce? "

So, where do you draw the line?

In 1803, during the Thomas Jefferson Presidency, the Girandoni could hold up to 30 balls could fire 22 balls a minute and it was NEVER banned.

ORLANDO, Fla. — A gunman killed 50 people and wounded 53 in a crowded gay nightclub in Orlando early Sunday, officials said, in the worst mass shooting slaughter in American history, and law enforcement officials called it an act of terrorism.

The gunman was Omar Mir Seddique Mateen, 29, an American citizen living in Port St. Lucie, Fla., federal law enforcement officials said.

The killer stormed the Pulse nightclub armed with an AR-15-style assault rifle

Assault is an action. If I pick up my 5 year old Cavalier King Charles and bash my wife over the head with him, he becomes an assault Cavalier.... Other than that he is just an over energetic cute little fur friend.

I just bought an M2 stock. That along with the trigger type grip my AR know longer qualifies as an "assault weapon" so hastily thrown together. Even if Brown signs it into law.

I can go back to using my 30 round mags with no bullet button. It's known as featureless but still an AR15. Same function, same rate of fire simply avoiding the made up crap some idiot politician threw together.

How long before the uneducated left start pulling out the "battle rifle" label? That's a battle rifle!
