Political Correctness and the NPR are a greater threat to America than Hitler. Democrats want to bring in 100k people whose core beliefs are opposed to gay rights. Republicans want people on the Terror Watch List to be able to buy an AR 15 and unlimited ammo. God help us.

Oh, yeah. "Recognizing the problem" has prevented lots of murders since, hasn't it?

And you think that Trump will somehow "fix" this?

The Left's idea: Get rid of guns.

The Right's idea: Get rid of Islamic extremists.

It's about time to speak the truth.

Americans have gun violence because we are an armed nation. The 2nd Amendment made us an armed nation, and ensures that we will continue to be armed, to have the means to wreak a great deal of violence on our fellow citizens. It's not a bad thing, or a good thing, it is what it is. We decided, as a nation, more than two hundred years ago, to be an armed nation. It is unrealistic to think we can reverse that. We can't take away people's arms, and the vast number of people who have guns have a good reason to own them, and are law-abiding people who would never use their guns to commit violence against their fellow Americans. That's the bottom line.

The world has a problem with radicals. And because radicals go to work with us, sit down at restaurants with us, go to the movies with us, they don't stand out. They look just like us, they do the same things we do. The difference is that they don't think the same things we do. They look at the world through a lens of hatred, they see every act, every exchange, as one that is colored with hatred. They've gone down the rabbit hole.

And many people want to follow them down that same rabbit hole. Many people think hatred is the appropriate reaction to violence. It isn't. Every GREAT leader of humanity teaches us that hatred is not the appropriate reaction. That following in the bad person's footsteps is perpetuating evil, not ending it.

You can't beat radicalism by becoming a radical yourself. And to me, that seems to be what Trump is advocating. That American has to fight radicalism with radicalism. The labeling of a religion, the banning of a religion, is a step toward radicalism. A step that many Americans seem eager to take. When, in fact, that doesn't solve the problem, and in fact, it grows the problem.

There are better solutions. Our intelligence service is working. The Orlando shooter did raise red flags, did get investigated, but there wasn't enough information to determine that he was a threat. And maybe he wasn't a threat when he was investigated. At some point, he crossed a line. He determined to hurt other people. I don't know if he shared his decisions with family, with friends, even on social media. I don't know if it's possible to catch every person who slips from the possible threat, to the probable threat, to the certain threat. I think that as an armed society we have to live with the knowledge that violence is going to erupt, that innocent people are going to be killed because of our choice to be an armed society. I also think that as a society that has to deal with radicalism, religious and otherwise, that we are going to have to make more difficult choices. We know that freedom comes with a price. And we know that security comes with a price. And that relationship between the two means the price often comes at the cost of one or the other.

We can choose to bludgeon our freedom of religion by restricting the people who practice certain religions, by blocking the immigration of people of certain religions, by even demanding that people of these religions live lives of duress, limiting their freedom of movement, limiting their freedom to own guns, limiting their freedom of speech. We can do that, but we need to understand that when we do that to one religion, we do it to all religions, we are saying we are no longer committed to the principle of freedom of religion. We can choose to add limitations to the 2nd Amendment, hollowing out the freedom to bear arms, layer by layer by layer. If someone raises a red flag with law enforcement, we can make laws to prevent them from buying weapons. If someone raises a red flag with the medical community, we can make laws to prevent them from buying weapons. If someone does commit violence, we can make laws to punish their families, who may or may not have known about the violence being planned, because we can argue that preventing the violence is worth that.

We can do lots of things to give ourselves the illusion of safety and security. But at the end of the day, it is just an illusion. Those among us who are filled with anger, and hatred, and frustration, will take it out on the rest of us. We can take the easy way of passing laws to make us feel safer, but unless we find ways to address the anger, hatred and frustration, not just of people from the Middle East, but of people right here at home, the safety we seek will always elude us.

As a society, we will make the choices, and we will live with the consequences.

Hillary will be 4 more years of the exact same thing. If the next attack is 200-300 dead she will blame the guns and hatred and still not acknowledge the problem.

Trump will deal with these people in the way they need to be dealt with. I'm talking about these radicals with ISIS ties and on watch lists.

You have to see this now. We are going down a road and our leadership simply will not deal with it.
"Radical Islam" is, specifically, Salafi Islam.

No administration, neither Democrat nor Republican, and not even Trump is going to deal with Salafi Islam because Salafi Islam is Saudi Islam.

All of the export of Islamic terrorism, as well as home-grown Islamic terrorists in the West, is the result of Salafi doctrine that is funded and supported around the world by the Saudis. If you get into a private conversation with a non-Salafi Muslim (like a Sufi or a Shiite), he will tell you that.

Or, heck, you can just Google "Salafi" and find non-Salafi Muslim websites that will tell you as much.

No US administration is going to own up to that because the Saudis have too much control over US finances. That's why every US president does his pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia and kisses the king.

And Trump will make the pilgrimage to Saudia Arabia and kiss the king, too.

No it hasn't. That guy is getting the death penalty for his crimes. And no one will weep for him. I wept for the victims, and was impressed by the victim's family being so forgiving. It was a different situation, one guy doing something because he was an a-hole, not for any higher reason like to get the glory of God. Omar Mateen was a radical extremist who wanted to martyr himself by taking out as many gay people as he could because, as the British spokesman for ISIS said, they love death more than we love life.

The response after the Charlston shooting was to remove confederate flags from state houses (which I supported), and war memorials. There was massive sympathy from American citizens. How could you forget that?

Because a watch list compiled by the government so hostile to half the country cannot be trusted. If you want American citizens on a watch list, then watch them. But you cannot deny rights to citizens without a trial and conviction.

Well stated, and some of us don't forget. These radical extremist, don't need a reason to kill, because it is automatic with their thought process, which is whacked. They are so warp in their sense of what is right and wrong. With Omar it was Gays, and how sad this is. Maybe the next guy, won't like blonds, the point is they really do not need a reason to kill. If you do not believe or behave in the manner in which they are taught, they are out to kill you.

How sad that today, with our children, we have to look over our shoulders, at ball parks, the circus, miniature golfing, any place where there happens to be a lot of people. Not calling out these people for who they really are, not being able to say what they are, has not helped us one bit because they know we are weak.

Hate to say this, but there will be more of these incidents inside this Country, with all of the refuges coming in. We have no idea what so ever, who in the hell all these people are.
