I was wondering if anyone knows how the victims that survived aside from the mental help they most likely need will be able to handle the medical bills and some may not get paid while not able to work. That must be a disaster on itself.

So far I haven't seen any fundraising for the victims.

Not everyone will have medical insurance or maybe co pay or like us having high deductibles.

Shouldn't there be fundraisers and at the same time the family of the shooter pay for every dime and if they go broke, who cares.

Maybe the Muslim society could start fundraising as well to pay back to the victims.

Israel has the pay back "clause" where the homes of terrorist will be demolished so family members will think twice in the future not to report things or trying to stop them as they will loose everything. That seemed to have helped in preventing these senseless attacks.

I heard on the news tonight that Muslim groups / mosques in Chicago have reached out to the LGBT groups to offer their assistance, so I think efforts are already taking shape.

I think you meant Charleston. Yes, he mentioned giving any support needed.

There are fundraisers going on. However, perhaps if you're concerned you could start one as well.

I'm curious but did the OP donate anything to organizations out there?

Or is this thread a thinly veiled attempt to 'call out' Muslim American organizations that may not have donated anything.

Which leads me to the following. Why are Muslim organizations responsible for speaking out or donating anything in the first place? Many are reaching out and speaking against this attack, but again, why do some think they have some sort of 'moral' responsibility to do so?

Muslim organizations and Muslims in general have no more responsibility to automatically feel guilty and speak out against terror attacks, than do any other groups of people when their groups or ideology is implicated in hateful attacks (Christians, various races, etc.).

Put it this way. Do people out there feel a need to apologize or feel accountable if an errant American missile strike kills hundreds of innocent civilians overseas?

I wonder if the Red Cross is involved? They will usually set up a donation line.

Israel has universal health care for their citizens plus other programs in place to deal with terrorist related situations. Thus the bills would be covered.

Why ask a question related to those hurt by lunatic and end with a sentence that has nothing to do with the rest?
