The point is we do have sports that use all three of these weapons in a non killing way.

One of the benefits of my high school rifle team years is that it taught me mind over matter control, to quell the stress in the body so to put rounds on target. From my point of view, marksmanship is an excellent way to teach anger management.
I carried my 52D to HS for four years. And, yes, it taught safe gun handling and, maybe more importantly, responsibility. It was a privilege to shoot on the team; and we could loose that privilege if we did not follow the rules. Today we tell our youth that we don't trust them with knives and guns, so when they do get their hands on them, they do not act responsibly.

I'm curious as to how you would have prevented this tragedy in Orlando..
You might also elaborate on how this shooting is Obamas fault.

The GOP refused to reauthorize the assalt weapons ban in 2004. Just another example of a party who refuse to do what is best for the nation. Goes along with the passing of nafta, repeal of Glass Stegle, and the passing of the TPA. And of course citizens United it has not hurt the country at all.

I'm kinda surprised it took this long for the rabid right to start barking.

Oh, well. Here's your dog whistle.

Really...

Please state specifically how the NRA did this through the Republicans...

You mean asking the government to abide by the Constitution?

Should have read whole post, you will understand. The GOP has a history not doing what is best for the largest segment of the population.

Actually, I disagree with you. Here is why.

It is estimated that more people died in this shooting than the Orlando shooting.
