Fiat Chrysler Automobiles began producing the Jeep Renegade in China on Monday, giving the brand a second vehicle that it can sell in the world's largest automotive market without import duties.
But until last year, when production of the Renegade began in Melfi, Italy, Jeeps were only produced in the U.S.
That severely handicapped the brand's ability take advantage of its global name recognition, said Stephanie Brinley, an automotive analyst for IHS Automotive. Other brands, such as Ford, Chevrolet and Toyota, have had a global manufacturing presence for years.
"This is what a lot of manufacturers have been doing for a long time," Brinley said. "This is a good thing for Jeep and the company because they have products that are in demand ... and that should perform well in international markets, but they have not had access."
This is the mantra of all globalists. That it's "good for America". Nobody buys that nonsense anymore.

Obama & Hillary are globalists. They see nothing wrong with using taxpayer money to bail out a automobile manufacturer, only to have that manufacturer send 1000s of jobs to China.

You don't know the business world if you think the government could force a company like Chrysler to agree to not manufacture a car outside of the US some 8 years down the road after the bailout. Their Board of Directors would have just gone through bankruptcy and laid off a whole bunch of people (not just Chrysler but also its financial arm, Chrysler Financial). No Board would tie the company's hands for 8 years in the future when there is another solution available (bankruptcy).
People disagree on the calculation method, but Chrysler has clearly paid back most of the taxpayer money, if not more.

I just posted the link where they did not pay back "more". We lost almost 10 billions dollars and if you figure in the other programs far more than that.

Like the Chinese example given above, slap heavy import duties on any vehicle they produce outside the USA. That will take care of it.
