Yup -

"They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety."

It's been explained many times, the GOP even tried to put in a provision in the last bill that tried to do this for a remedy to get yourself off of such lists if you happen to be on it in error and the Dems said no.

trick question

what version of the no fly list?

by the same token NJ residents with a firearms id card should bypass TSA screening at airports as the investigation for a FID excedes the investigation for a quick pass at the airport

And speaking of which, this is what scares me. Anyone could end up on the no-fly list.

I don't see Ryan or Congress calling the DOJ on the carpet, or calling for transparency or accountability, or for legislation regarding the no-fly list process.

The Republican amendment endorsed by the NRA that was voted on 2 days ago would have blocked for 72 hours anyone that appeared on those lists from purchasing a gun. Permanently with a court order.

It failed because no Democrats supported it,they only needed a handful of Democrats to break ranks. The only ones that need to explain their vote is Democrats.

It was tried in the past and the Dems on the Security council like Feinstein was against putting in any provisions for getting yourself off the list if you were put on it by error. They wanted to maintain complete secrecy and bureaucratic control over the entire process.
