Pretty much.

All of the RWNJs who claim that the US government is tyrannical are the same as all the other first world problems people. The american public gets the BEST side of the American government... there are plenty of other nations who have a legitimate right to complain about the tyranny of the American government.

our government has gotten larger and more restrictive over the decades, but you are right in that many governments around the world are far worse than what we have here.

however, here in the US we do have the advantage in that this country started with the premise that the individual is the most important component of the overall equation of governance, where as in the other countries, the individual is dismissed as just an insignificant part of the whole.
