I've tried posting just VAT, but too many liberals had no clue what that was. You actually have to spell it out to them that the countries they wish to emulate (Europe, Scandinavia) charge everyone a 20-25% tax on everything they buy.

People who live in countries with universal health care (everyone except the US) are very, very happy with the system according to polls. Its America that have a huge dissatisfaction problem. And lots of European countries dont have a "single payer" system, but they cover everyone anyway.

Just let us know when Americans are willing to flatten federal income tax rates and add a 20-25% VAT on top of that.

Are you talking about the cost needed to cover a national health care system? Or the additional tax revenue that would be raised by emulating European/Scandinavian countries' regressive tax systems?

That's just to merge data, optimize the system, redesign architecture, build an edw, etc...

The thing that house provider/member data and adjudicates claims, receives all the transactions (when a newborn is born, you just type a name that follows them for life, same for things like marriage, divorce... Think every single life event that occurs). Etc..,, etc...

I've read plenty of that stuff and I wouldn't say "very, very happy". What I've read is that most are appalled at the idea of a US-style system. You read lots of complaints about the NHS (UK) and others, just because people like to complain, I think. They complain, but they don't want to switch to fee for service, in other words.

The point is, none of these systems cover everything the patient may wish to have. They all have exclusions.
