Industrialization, the Great War and World War II --- those alone put it in the 1900 to 1949 camp.

imagine being born in a place without cars, cinema, electricity, sewer, motorbikes, radio, planes...
the rise of communism all over...
two world wars...

the period 1950-1999 has just been a bettering of what we had already
