That is a terrible tragedy.
There is no doubt that basic gun safety practices were ignored and that is a real shame.
I hope the press doesn't get a hold of his one and tout it as a message that guns are dangerous and no one should own them.
It was a terrible accident.
The kid could have gotten his license in a few years and while on the road been distracted and in a split second he could be dead.
There is really no difference cars and guns are dangerous and need to be treated with respect.
The press published this already.
People get hurt while handling their own guns because they're stupid.
I don't think stupid people or potential terrorists should own/handle weapons, but hey, that's just me.
Obviously, daddy didn't teach sonny well, but he still has the right to kill the rest of his children because as we all know, people kill people, not guns.
Bolded.
I think most people know guns are dangerous. On the other hand, the father could have picked a less lethal hobby/sport to do with his son.
Besides teaching me how to shoot and gun safety, my father also taught me woodworking skills (I still have 10 fingers), welding (my retinas weren't burned out), auto repair (the car didn't fall off the jack and crush me) and a LOT of other very dangerous things. When you grow up outside of a metropolitan area the men folk usually partake in activities that can lead to serious injury and death.
AMELIA, Ohio — Officials say a man has been fatally shot in an apparent accident during a concealed carry class at a gun shop in Ohio.
The class is part of a program designed to coach participants on gun safety.
Clermont County sheriff AJ Rodenberg said 64-year-old James Baker, was shot in the neck around 1 p.m. Saturday and died at the scene.
There were about 10 people in the concealed carry class when the shooting occurred at KayJay Gun Shop in Amelia, about 20 miles east of Cincinnati.
Investigators told WLWT TV that another class member discharged a handgun while practice weapon malfunction drills. The bullet passed through a wall, striking Baker in the next room.

According to the gun shop’s website, the class taught basic pistol safety, gave students range time and reviewed Ohio’s gun laws
Perhaps shooting was their preferred hobby. Absolutely nothing wrong with that. Should have had some safety lessons before going to the range. Not all men are like gun grabbing libs. Barbie dolls don't interest them.
My question is, if you're conducting a class of that sort, why the hell are the people INDOORS and not over a damn gun barrel outside or at the range? You don't practice "malfunctions" inside a classroom. There's something not being told about this story...but I'm sure we'll never hear the rest of it from the media.

Yes a shame that an experienced owner was killed by a another person, practicing malfunctions with a group of people doesn't sound like a good idea anywhere.
Sadly, teenagers die. Whether in cars or farm accidents or 100 other ways that only happen to inexperienced teens.
