They were no longer illegal when Reagan declared amnesty for millions. Democrats have no intention of giving today's illegals amnesty. They want them to remain "illegal" as a way to keep wages nice and low. That way, dems can brag about how great the stock market is doing when their guy or gal gets in office. Dems like to remind everyone how great Obama was for the economy and the stock market, but they never go into great detail as to the hows and whys.
Democrats demand an underclass so they have people to push around and abuse. They know they will never get your average Trump supporter to kneel before them and kiss their boots, but an illegal will behave like a slave for minimum wage, so lets just fill the whole country full of them so you'll have plenty of people to look down upon.
