There Are Now More Bureaucrats With Guns Than U.S. Marines
Report: Non-military federal agencies spend $1.48 billion on guns and ammo since 2006
Quote:
There are now more non-military government employees who carry guns than there are U.S. Marines, according to a new report.

Open the Books, a taxpayer watchdog group, released a study Wednesday that finds domestic government agencies continue to grow their stockpiles of military-style weapons, as Democrats sat on the House floor calling for more restrictions on what guns American citizens can buy.

The “Militarization of America” report found civilian agencies spent $1.48 billion on guns, ammunition, and military-style equipment between 2006 and 2014. Examples include IRS agents with AR-15s, and EPA bureaucrats wearing camouflage.

So basically all the real world failures that ened up as government bureaucrats get access to firearms?

Let's hope the rogue agents in Cleveland don't get their hands on a firearm!

Charles whitman and Lee harvey are rolling in their graves.

that is an amazing bit of information.....do these federal agencies have access to the military equipment Obama has wanted to pull from our local police?
I understand Obama didn't want the police to have military behicles because of the negative image it presents.

In that case what image do you think is presented when IRS agents are armed to the teeth???????????? Wasn't bad enough that merciless agency persecuted and prosecuted people into bankruptcy for administrative errors, now they can break down your door, shoot your dog and grandmother in the name of monetary debt.

thanks obama and hillary!

I'm LOL'ing at the visual of Obama trying to fire a .50 cal handgun with those spaghetti-thin wrists of his.

Hopefully someone has the decency to buy him a cap gun to fit with the theme of the last 7 years of firing blanks.

And you're right, Kracer -- given that the vast majority of bureaucrats are human failures, do we really want them handling anything more dangerous than an umbrella? I think not.
