And whites in the US in particular...well, they've traditionally gone by the one drop rule.

So someone biracial, half black half white, is typically not accepted as white by the white community, so if they feel rejected by that side, I'm not surprised they'd be extra eager to embrace the other side.

This is just a shot in the dark guess, I have no idea for sure.

They're lucky to have a community to identify with IMHO, I'm so diluted that I feel like alien. haha
Your actions define you, not your race or nationality.

I feel for your friend and her experiences but the discrimination goes both ways.

BTW, how many brown skinned or dark skinned black women have you befriended? How many of their personal, anecdotal colorism stories have you heard?

I attended elementary school with mostly light skinned, Creoles and they are very discriminatory against darker skinned blacks. They can be a very closed community based strictly on skin color, hair texture and facial features.

Look, this thread is about "bi-racial blacks are more militant."

The only point I was making is No, they are not. You "assume" too much, my own brother dated so many very dark skinned black girls, I don't care either way.

What does this "more" mean? So it is okay for somebody to say "bi-racial" black are more militant, it is not okay for me to say, well, based on my experiences, they are actually more friendly?

Plus, A lot of times what starts childhood friendships is just proximity, not skin color. If you are living in a black neighborhood, it is very natural that your close friends are all blacks. If you are living in a white neighborhood, it is very natural that your close friends are all white. Most of us lead pretty sheltered lives, believe it or not, admit it of not.

Our childhood friends know the highs and the traumas. Those remembrances are really powerful to our young brains. Those things really stick with us. All of that — the ups and down, the shared life stories — make a difference in bonding. I am very loyal to my friends because they know me and I know them. If my light skinned biracial girlfriend tells me something, yes, I will trust her and believe her because I believe in her characters.

Like I said earlier, my black guy friend Gary does not like Stephen Curry simply because he has lighter skin. I still love him (Gary that is), but I have no clue why he thinks the way he thinks.

This said,

Maybe I shouldn't have made a comment like this,

"they are MORE friendly...., girls are different stories. and all the blah blah" Maybe I should have chosen my words more carefully. But, by no means, did I mean darker girls are rude. That ONLY point I am making here is that I think light skinned biracial black people are friendly.

No more, no less.

It's still a silly argument when you look at the big picture. I mean your really using your biracial friend as proof that biracials are generally nicer? Lol... That's about as amusing as the "I have one black friend so I can't be racist because I have that one Black friend"... I have a family full of biracials, light skin blacks, and dark skin blacks. I have friends of various hues. There is certainly colorism--and comments like yours contribute to it. The whole idea that biracial women are nicer and that lighter women are nicer is ignorant and based obviously on your limited experiences. It's amusing when nonblacks try to chime in to post their commentary about the few blacks they know--as if this makes them qualified to make a generalized argument.

I think that she basically misspoke and what she meant came across the wrong way.

She's just saying that lighter skinned blacks aren't more militant.

Except for Angela, who's militant--in the old school way--enough for all the rest.

Thank you dd. That is exactly what I meant.

Plus, this thread is

Why are bi-racial and light skinned blacks more militant?

I am basically saying, Nope, they are not!

I have a completely different experience with biracial people (who I called the rainbow swirl generation when I growing up).

Most are not even "black" and much less militant.
