Women aren't being treated like secondhand citizens.
That's 2nd class, and YES, they ARE. The facilities women will access for abortions don't have to meet the higher standards required of surgery centers, even though surgical procedures will be performed on them.
You are arguing that he should benefit (because most men consider having sex a benefit), while incurring no risk. The reason the man legally cannot force a woman to have an abortion or legally compel her to go through a pregnancy, is because she is legally a man's equal, and it is her body. That said, it is HIS sperm that fertilized her egg, so it's not like he had nothing to do with the pregnancy.
No.
Because he is accepting risk, in that he will be financially responsible for any child that is a result of his "benefiting" from sex if the woman decides to have the baby. Even if she said she was on BC.
So, for his "part" of contributing to the pregnancy, he should have zero say in his future or the future of the child, but still be "responsible"?

Well then I guess you'll just have to choose your own personal abortion facility very, very carefully. I think us American women will continue to be fine ... you really needn't worry about us all so much.

Again, you want to have your cake and eat it too.
Don't have sex with women and you'll find yourself free and clear of the whole sordid mess.

Again, too sweeping. Not all abortions are surgical, and there's no reason to force every doctor who prescribes RU-486 to comply with the standard. In the rare instance of complications, a patient can be referred for follow-up care. In the case of severe complications after a woman has returned home, she's calling an ambulance anyway, and nobody cares about the width of the doors in the office where she received her prescription.
You had a personal experience that has left you bitter and it has impaired your ability to look impartially at this topic. It's unfortunate that you were in the situation that you were, but you know, it's not American women's burden to carry the load of feels that people have that cause them to loathe abortion and become so concerned with the freedom and rights of others.
No, like many, they are thinking the next 9 months of discomfort, not a posible lifetime of regret.
Again, woman's choice. Man's only choice is abstaining. And contraception... Doesn't always work.
Oh please, just stop it. Your girlfriend...YOUR girlfriend... seemed to have regret because she apparently didn't think things through. Others don't. I have grief. My husband has grief. Neither one of us has regrets.
And anyway, what exactly is it that you want here? This thread is about a SCOTUS decision, not the role of men in abortion rights. Talk this over with your mental health counselor if you need support dealing with your grief.

2nd class on this... It's a start... The precedent has been set. In what other areas will women be forced to accept being treated as 2nd class?
