Yeah, Maher's probably right.
Is it worth my time addressing this? Probably not. But I'll point out that liberals are significantly less likely than conservative to not believe in evolution.
Liberals selectively believe in evolution. If the question is whether a single-celled organism adapted to its environment and eventually evolved into a human being over billions of years then, yes, they believe in evolution. If someone argues that humans have evolved different traits based on the environments they lived in for tens of thousands of years, liberals will deny it and scream racism and bigotry.

The irony is, for the sake of equality, they would be better off believing in creation. Evolution destroys equality, and turns it into a complete illogical absurdity.
Of course, no one can prove that the universe isn't four-seconds old, so whatevs.
Unfortunately neither liberals (who know nothing about guns) nor conservatives (who ostensibly are experts on guns) know when the next formerly "responsible" gun owner is going to go off and massacre a bunch of people.
No, but we know there's a 92% chance it will be somewhere that law abiding people are banned from carrying firearms.

Time is a construct of man, as is the evolution of science. The definition of science is that it is never settled. However, through history, just as now, the science of the day is always absolute until it's proven wrong by new science, rinse and repeat.
Those who decide what is and what isn't, and then demand that anyone with a differing view is somehow ignorant... ARE ignorant. Those who have decided anything is settled are destined to be wrong.

AND, they are using broad interpretations of the laws to confiscate weapons from law abiding citizens as well.
One DA in Los Angeles openly said she doesn't agree with the second amendment and feels it is her duty to disarm as many people as she can.

Evolution? Survival of the fittest comes to mind? Kind of reminds me of 'Manifest Destiny'. No room for the weak in evolution
One of the items that has made Humans "more fit" is we can talk to each other and thus cooperate. a bison can destroy a single human but a pack of humans can turn it into lunch. We have evolved our society as well as our physical being.
OP: I am a Liberal, a leftist, and, on some issues, a Socialist. I know a fair amount about guns from improving the trigger action on a antique Mauser to, as a kid, making a suppressor for my .22 rat rifle. I have used guns in combat ('Nam 65 - 66) and am still a pretty darn good shot with a 1911 Colt .45.
So you initial assertion theat "Libruals don't know crap about guns" does not apply to all Liberals.
Liberals are more likely to know their children know less about guns too. Therefore, they don't leave them lying around for Johnny to find them and blow little Susie's head off.
you mean like all those conservatives in E Orange NJ, Baltimore, St. Louis or Chicago blowing each others heads off?

Luckily that happens about as often as you find a smart liberal. Very rare.
