just a thought but IMO, people are judged by what they add to society and mankind in general. and also, how they overcome.
it's not today's white man's fault that blacks were marginalized and were enslaved. People throughout history have picked themselves up after horrific events and genocides and turned things around. the victim mentality will only get you so far.
What people of color need to accept is that it will never change, and learn how to survive in a country where you were not expected to be anything other than a slave.
I'm pretty sure slavery ended in the 19th century.
Furthermore, your title is severely misleading. Pew Research did not conclude that "Racial inequality is here to stay." Those are your words, not Pew's.
The only people who see racism are those who seek it out. I know of no one who feel superior to others simply because of something as arbitrary as skin color. Now of course there are many people who have preferences, bigotries, and even animosity towards certain groups, sub-cultures, or other affiliations, but that is not racism.
The only way to be "accepted" by the "majority" is to assimilate. As long as any particular group insists on being counter to norms and engaging in efforts to force the majority to adapt to their minority, they will always be seen as a pariah...
When in Rome, do as the Romans do...otherwise you are a Barbarian...if you get what I mean.
There are no tangible standards where you do A, B, and C to fix the problem. It grows merely on the claim of racism alone.
I would love to know how to solve the problem, but that's not the goal of race claims. The goal seems to be to intimidate others and cause chaos, because that's what happens. If those who make claims of racism wanted it fixed, they would say so and offer solutions.
It surely did according to you, but what I am saying to black people is to SURVIVE regardless of what is still happening that prevents you from achieving your goals. Work harder and smarter and know that it will require work, but not the work that our ancestors had to do. Get your education and find the companies that will hire you and the mortgage companies that will provide a mortgage for you with an interest rate that is fair. I just want black people to stop thinking that it is going to be fair, because most times it will not be fair, but based on our history we can almost endure anything that is unfair and SURVIVE!!
The comments came to quickly for me to believe you have read all the findings/outcomes from this research study. Do not be quick to judge, unless you have actually read the article. If you have not done so, then your response is useless and has no significant meaning!
