You can't take the libertarian mantra in pieces. It doesn't work that way. It is a package deal. They also want to get rid of all social services. No welfare, obamacare, food stamps, section 8 housing, publicly funded education, Medicaid, Medicare, Social Security, etc. Heck, if we didn't have any of that I would be for open borders as well. Just like the old days.

But as it is, I like many of our social safety nets. In order to keep them, we can't afford to allow tens of millions of minimum wage earners into the country unfettered. That is simple economics. Who is going to pay for it? Certainly not our newly minted US citizens.

Hillary loves that cheap labor.. and will send the illegals to college on our dime to infiltrate the white collar world and create lower wages there too. The democrats believe food stamps grows the economy.. no , it grows government debt and shrinks the tax base.

You cannot rationally believe that 11 million people are going to be deported. I'm sorry. You are living in a fantasy world.

Do I think Hillary is correct? No. That's silly. Our economy is effected by bigger things. That's not to say that illegal immigrants have no impact, but deporting them probably wouldn't change all that much. A good portion of those illegal immigrants are employed, so I guess there is that. I assume that's what Hillary was referring to. But that's a temporary set back at worse that will be replaced within months.

I don't think deporting all of them is a viable solution. I mean, I feel like it should be obvious why, but I'm sure it's not. 11 million is a lot. Each one of those people has to be tracked down, located in person, arrested, most likely given some kind of trial to ensure they are in fact here illegally, which would require them to be detained for a while, then actually deported. Do people think this is free or cheap? How long do you expect this to take? I just can't see how deporting 11 million people is going to happen. We'll start and probably run out of money before we've gotten to all of them. Not that having no money has stopped our government (or Trump, for that matter) from spending it on **** we don't need anyway.

I think neither Hillary nor Donald have viable or sensible plans in regards to immigration.

I'll support this once there's a country that will be so warmly accommodating for American illegals (who will eventually be motivated by the lack of jobs/social services sucked up by the illegals to the US).

Oh wait...other countries actually enforce their borders and put their own citizens first!

How about this instead: we'll allow open immigration to citizens from any country that'll allow the same for Americans. Deal?

NO! Libertarians did not say that!

Certain posters in this place are well known parrots, so having a reasonable conversation is defined by how much you agree with them. If you don't agree, you must be stupid. You'd be better served reasoning with a brick.

It's not a liberal thing.

Liberal/Conservative moderates have become Independents or Libertarians. We are witnessing the Dems going full socialist and the Reps in disarray as their establishment is being forced to accept a non-establishment candidate.

Both parties are showing their real agendas, and how corrupt they have truly become.

Gary Johnsons says he is a Libertarian. He flip flopped on TPP.
Where do you see that Johnson agrees with Clinton on this issue?
