The problem is none of these City prides include black culture. We helped shaped the culture of the gay community especially here in the U.S It's one of the main reasons why there will continue to be a black gay pride until some inclusion starts happening. Everything about city prides is white washed from parties to just down to regular advertising. I have yet to see ballroom culture introduced into city gay pride events.

Most black men and women are for marriage. If you wanna go there Who you think popped off the biggest political movement the Stonewall Riots ? Im referring to black gay men and women

https://mic.com/articles/121256/meet...ewall-veterans

Yet they have tried to remove them from the history by white washing it.

Ballroom culture has been around over 50 years. Ask madonna how her vogue song came about.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ball_culture

Last but not least why was black gay pride started The black LGBT pride began as a result of the gay black minority community in the United States feeling marginalized and less a part of the whole gay community in participation, organization and administration. There was also the factor of socio-cultural differences that prevented the sub-community in full participation in the gay movement. So this is the problem with city prides today there isnt any inclusion.

So yes us blacks gays helped shaped gay culture in the U.S

1969? Goddam, is it possible for any black person to argue a point with events from the past 25 years? Too much to ask? Everything's in the past....

Black history 1605-1965. Nothing before or after those dates matter at all.

Broken record.

Black people and many people in general don't know any history, or the events of their ancestors beyond what they know, which are probably that date you mentioned.

I'm sure this fact angers you too...but it's the truth.

Typical response.

Everything starts somewhere you can't make a point if you don't start from the root of where the problem lies. Especially when you continue to see the same problem from the past. That's why history keeps being brought up. If the playing fields were equal and there was more inclusion Goulding have to worry about people bringing history into things. The fact that's blacks have contributed heavily to gay culture past and present but yet barely have any inclusion in the city prides is a problem.

Blacks gay men and women are still helping to shape the culture till this day.
