One of them is more apt to be a potential Terrorist than anyone else. Almost all Terrorists in the entire World are Muslims. When you have an entire Movement of nothing but Terrorists, like ISIL, you earned that "Narrative" and fist place as potential suspects. The Puritans were some who CAME to what is now the U.S. to escape what they felt was the still-too-Catholic Church of England. They were a group of reformers who wanted to purify the church.
"Puritanical" as you use it in the last sentence really has nothing to do with the Puritans. It has come to mean restrictive based in some practices of early religious settlers in New England. Not really appropriate applied to burqas.
