Most of the men shot by police do have criminal records though.
The way they reacted to cops may not be "normal".
We still need due process- some earned their deaths but more did NOT. Cant justify that--
There is a fear and anger, on both sides. Cops are out numbered- bad people have better weapons and no longer respect the law. I would accept that some cant handle that and over react. It s bad on all sides and politicians FUEL the fire with their nasty mouth.
Obama came a little ahead of his time, the old geezers were NOT ready for a black president and have caused a lot of the anger-- I do blame them for that-

The problem is that police have been turned into revenue generating units rather than the beneficent force they used to be. If they would quit wearing riot gear for everyday duties and doing traffic stops with their guns drawn it would be a big plus.
There are a lot of good cops still left. I know some of them. There are also a lot of *******s who think their uniforms make them some kind of a god above all reproach or questioning. The good ones will not report the bad ones. Get rid of the Blue Wall Of Silence and weed out the bad ones, and put the ones in jail who abuse their authority, and you'll go a long way towards changing the public perception of cops. As it stands we are being taught to distrust and despise anyone in a uniform because of the news reports coming in on a daily basis.
Besides - isn't everyone carrying their own personal cannon to make them safe, powerful, and respected? Maybe it's time for cops need to go the way of the dodo and let John Q. Public sort out their own business in the street.
Respect is earned by actions, not given solely because of someone's clothes or because he carries a gun.
People say the cops are now dangerous. The people who have been given training in dealing with aggressive, dangerous situations*. They then say that people with little or no training are the key to reducing the danger. I disagree. Amateurs with guns are a hazard to the people around them.

The 2A was meant to allow people to attend militia training sessions with their long guns regardless of the ordinances in any location. The militia was supposed to be the first responders for Indian raids or attacks by pirates.
That's because most white people have sons daughters, Father's or uncles who are police officers. Police departments have a notorious history of discriminating against blacks in hiring, testing and promotion. Which is how they've been able to keep so many police departments Lilly white for so many years. New York, Boston, Philly, Los Angeles, all have the same racists history, when it came to hiring black men and women.

Departments kiss butt for minority hiring. Reduce standards for minority hiring..can't attract enough minorities ..can't FIND QUALIFIED minority applicants
Departments promote minorities and females over white officers...and get sued all the time for doing so...
When I was hired I stood in a lottery of white males who were selected AFTER minority applicants.minority applicants were weighted more heavily in all aspects of the hiring process...interview ..testing..
Tell me how that was fair please?...
Apples for apples why should a minority have been given MORE weight over the next equally qualified..or as was the case more qualified applicants?
