Conservatives? War on drugs? What President was behind mandatory sentences for drug crimes in the 90s?

Yes, and the violent crime rate is half what it was when Clinton was president. You'd never know it if all you did was listen to liberal media but that's the facts. More guns, more civilians carrying firearms, more criminals in jail and lower crime, of course the left wants to change all of that.

I would check with groups like NORML or see what states like California, Oregon, and Washington are doing to get marijuana fully legalized. Colorado is pretty evenly split politically and has legalized recreational marijuana use.

And besides, the democrats are all about control and running your life.
Ooo OOoo! And Republicans just want to make sure you are well armed and want to peak into your bedroom!

Do another!

It's called blowback. Not excusing the perps, but Cops have done it to themselves.

90s?

Mandatory minimum sentencing started in the early 70s for hard drugs. The 80s expanded. It continued on into the 90s and is still with us.

Should treat drug use and abuse as a healthcare issue.

What about when Nixon was president? Reagan? Bush Sr? Bush Jr? I can play with statistics too.

Both parties own the drug war, no point in bickering.

Cops were innocently protecting the evil BLM protestors.

If someone's life gets entangled with a cop in any way, their life needs to be reevaluated.

Obama blamed for fanning anti-police hate, new surge in gun sales expected | Washington Examiner

Long-simmering anger in law enforcement circles at President Obama started spilling into public Friday when some blamed the White House for stirring lethal hatred of cops by focusing most on civilians killed in confrontations and not the 58 police who have died on the job this year — five in Dallas last night and today.

David A. Clarke Jr., of sheriff of Milwaukee County in Wisconsin, bluntly called Obama the "cop hater in chief."
Cops have no one to blame but themselves. All they have to do is to clean up the brutality.
