Where and how do you begin to address the pathetic responses to this young man being shot down. Are you kidding me? Pathetic human beings with nothing better to do but insult the death of this young man.

May god have mercy on your sorry souls

Or 25 years of strong tin-foil sales.

Yeah, that part of DC is gentrifying but still pretty dicey. Some of the most notorious open-air drug markets in the city were nearby. I feel bad for the guy and his family but anyone walking around that neighborhood at 4 am is not very street smart.

How tragic! RIP I hope they catch the perp and throw the book at him/her. He sounds like he was a great person. What a loss.

Sounds like the 'official thinking' is a robbery gone bad. Very likely the case. He may have resisted and fought back.
In any event it is a sad thing.

How sad, with everything else that is going on, this too is sad. Hope this young man RIP. Until they investigate everything we think is merely speculation.

Lol, "affluent" area. That area is a high crime s**t hole.

Robbery gone wrong, simple as that.

What was he doing out at 4 in the morning? Anyone walking in that area at that time is either an idiot, or looking to prey on idiots, or has the unfortunate work schedule which I guarantee this guy did not.

Extremists never miss the chance to use a horrible event to promote their beliefs. This young man was someone's much-loved son. He was someone's friend. A co-worker. A neighbor. None of that matters to those who rush to the internet and reduce a human life to a thread topic.

Tomorrow....it will be someone else. SMDH.

May he rest in peace.
