I think you're onto something there. Too; people of ANY "race" who look "Arab" like as in many Hispanics, some anglo whites, some lighter skin Blacks and so on also have to deal with that kind of prejudice.

Here is one question. How many Blacks would it take moving into a certain neighborhood before some residents feel like selling their home and leaving vs other ethnic groups?

Like don't walk around while being black? Is that a choice?
Anyone who isn't blind knows the facts. Blacks are targeted by our racist law enforcement. The war on drugs is a perfect and obvious example of that. Get your head out of the sand and look for the truth.

Alot of Black men have joined the military, gone to college, gone into vocations, and did other things the right way. There are fewer Black men committing crimes than there are Black men doing things like the military/college/businesses/vocations,etc.

Doing all of that, becoming a success, does any of this negate that there is still prejudice? Does it negate that a Black man has a higher likelihood of being viewed with suspicion, perhaps more likely to be pulled over by the police due to "looking suspicious"?

The Black man was painted as the bogey man from the day he set foot on American soil.

Anyone who doesn't know this or denies it is either a liar, ignorant or leads a very sheltered life.

And that started long before there were any FBI stats to show who was killing whom.

The upper middleclass neighborhood I grew up in made sure you didn't move in there. You never would have known a house was for sale. For sale signs on front lawns were forbidden by city ordinance for the express purpose of keeping you out.

That was still true in 1995. I don't know about today.

It is a life style and it will never evolve. like I said, get rid of the bowls. Unhappiness n breeds more unhappiness. If you take away education, jobs and opportunity - the next chid and his kid will never feel there is anything but a closet. Or anything outside the bowl !
We were stationed in - Latin American , many in those countries are dirt poorl live in dirt homes, but there is a pride and attempt to achieve higher standards. They do not have free schools, but they are more than innovative to make anything out of nothing and sell it to eat. They are brown and white, n the divide is economical. All are equal in their country, as far as skin color and culture. In the USA Who has kept the separation ? You can even see it in the posts right here. In Latin America p, I never, ever, ever heard any one kicking their own for having less. Question--- what other country has " hate crimes" in their books?

In short, there was no law forbidding Blacks from living there, but this was a backdoor way of making sure it didn't happen.

What city was this?

I'm wondering what places do this in the state I live in.

It is a historical fact that the Black man was hated the moment he stepped on this shore. Now, are Blacks becoming more successful each day? Yes.

It has EVERYTHING to do with slavery in this country. Where would the Black slaves in this country have come from if their fellow Black Africans hadn't FIRST captured them and sold them into slavery to begin with?
